Case Study: Website Design for Barros & Errázuriz
Client Overview
Barros & Errázuriz (B&E) is a prominent law firm based in Chile, specializing in providing comprehensive legal services to a diverse range of clients. The firm sought to revamp its digital presence with a modern, professional website that accurately reflects its reputation and aligns with contemporary web design standards.
Project Scope
As the Product Designer for this project, my role encompassed the creation of the website’s look and feel, ensuring a cohesive user experience across all pages. The final website (https://www.bye.cl/) was built by a separate development team, to whom I handed off the design specifications.
The project included the following deliverables:
Moodboards
-
- I created three distinct moodboards to explore different visual directions for the site. Each moodboard included:
- Color palettes
- Typography samples
- Imagery styles
- Design patterns
- After a review session, the client selected one moodboard, which became the foundation for the entire website’s design.

- The wireframes served as a blueprint to align on the user flow and ensure all key elements were included before moving to visual design.
Initial Design Proposal

Full Website Design

Challenges and Solutions
- Client Alignment on Visual Direction: Initial discussions revealed varying preferences among stakeholders. The moodboard exercise helped streamline decision-making and provided a clear direction for the design.
- Iterative Feedback: The homepage design required multiple iterations to align with the client’s vision. I facilitated this process by presenting each iteration with explanations of design choices and how they addressed client feedback.
- Ensuring Consistency Across Pages: With 17 pages to design, consistency was crucial. I established a design system early on, including reusable components and style guides, which streamlined the process and ensured uniformity.
Outcome
The redesigned website successfully met the client’s objectives:
- It reflects the professionalism and prestige of Barros & Errázuriz.
- It provides a user-friendly experience across desktop and mobile platforms.
- The clear, structured layout improves navigation and accessibility for visitors.
The collaboration with the development team ensured the design was faithfully implemented, resulting in a cohesive and polished final product.
